Sustainable Directions Pty Ltd was established in 2008 to help organisations of all sizes embrace and adopt sustainable practices. We now have a wide network of Business Sustainability consultants who take a practical view of sustainability and recognise the day to day pressures facing business owners and business managers.

Government Funded Green training
A window of opportunity exists to take advantage of federal Government funding to gain much sought after green credentials through a registered training organisation. Green RTO, a strategic partner of Sustainable Directions, are able to offer a Certificate IV in Carbon Management and a Certificate IV in Business Sustainability Assessments at a Government funded cost of $375 each (Normally around $4,000 each). You must enrol by June 30 2012 to take advantage of this generous funding opportunity and then complete the course by 30 June 2013. Read here for more information or contact Green RTO

Northpoint show GREEN leadership
Sustainable Directions have been working closely with Northpoint (formerly Northpoint Toyota) to measure their carbon footprint and to introduce sustainability policies across the organisation. This is a further example of the commitment by Northpoint to reduce its impact on the environment from its business activities and displays leadership in sustainability within the vehicle sales industry. Montessori ECEC National Conference 2012
Sustainable Directions recently sponsored the Montessori early childhood education and care conference in Adelaide. Representatives from Montessori schools and child centres from all over Australia attended the conference to hear from a number of experts discuss the latest developments in the area of early childhood education. The Montessori approach fosters and encourages independence by providing an environment of materials and activities that children can use at their own pace thus providing a life-long learning experience. Sustainability and care for the planet is very much consistent with the Montessori philosophy. Sustainable Directions are now running a series of business sustainability workshops across Australia specifically tailored for Montessori schools and child centres in partnership with the Montessori Foundation.
Uniting Care Wesley Port Adelaide
A tailored 6P Green Program has recently been completed by a group of Managers and Staff from Uniting Care Wesley Port Adelaide (UCWPA). The program was conducted over a three week period and took participants through the main elements of business sustainability to help the organisation to decrease its impact on the environment and reduce operating costs by implementing energy efficiency strategies. UCWPA employ more than 1,000 staff and 130 volunteers to deliver a diverse range of programs across aged care, community welfare and employment services. Together, staff and volunteers work towards empowering people in need, building communities and strengthening families.
6P Green Program now in SYDNEY
The 6P Green Program is now available for delivery in the Sydney area through an approved partnership arrangement with Mind Your Carbon, a Sydney based environment consultancy. The 6P Green Program is an excellent opportunity for organisations of all sizes to fast track their sustainability strategies. Participating in the 6P Green Program will help you reduce your carbon footprint whilst improving your bottom line. Implementing all the recommendations contained in the program will also put you in a good position to seek ISO 14001 certification. The 6P Green Program includes:
- Six interactive workshops covering all aspects of Business Sustainability
- A visual inspection on your main business premises
- Energy efficiency advice to help you reduce your power usage by at least 10%
- Access to Carbon Management software to measure your carbon footprint
- An Environmental Management System (EMS) template
- A comprehensive Sustainability Action Plan
ISO 14001 Certification
Organisations who have previously completed the 6P Green Program or who are intending to complete the 6P Green Program can now contact Quality Control Services (Environmental) Pty Ltd, a well-established, JAS-ANZ accredited Certification Body offering ISO 14001 certification. This will provide independent verification that your environmental practices meet the guidelines contained in ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management Systems.
