Is climate change man-made?

The vast majority of the scientific community are of the view that climate change is real and is man- made. This includes the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), an independent body made up of leading climate specialists from around the globe.

 

The planet has experienced wide variations in climate before however the consensus view of the IPCC is that the recent warming is due to human activity and has been increasing since the start of the industrial revolution.

 

So how do we know that the planet is warming?

The US National Climatic Data Centre in their 2009 State of the Climate report, explain that there are ten key measurable indicators that climate scientists monitor. As you can see below, all of these indicators are trending towards a warming world.
