Community

We can assist business leaders build rewarding partnerships with community organisations under a Corporate Social Responsibility model. Our consultants have experience in developing meaningful partnerships with non profit organisations and community groups both in Australia and overseas.

We believe that all organisations, regardless of size, should be socially responsible. This entails acting ethically at all times, giving back to the community and treating stakeholders fairly.

In most cases stakeholders include:

  • Customers
  • Employees
  • Contractors/Agents
  • Suppliers
  • Investors
  • Directors

When giving back to the community, we believe that it is important to help build capacity in order to ensure that any investment is effective and gives people a “hand up” rather than a “hand out”.

Capacity Building

At Sustainable Directions, we believe that any partnership between a corporate organisation and a community group should be based on a solid foundation of Capacity Building.

Capacity building is defined as the "process of developing and strengthening the skills, instincts, abilities, processes and resources that communities (or community groups) need to survive, adapt, and thrive in the fast-changing world." Ann Philbin, Capacity Building in Social Justice Organizations.
